Mom, give yourself some me-time and pamper yourself

As a stay-at-home mom you will have enough me-time have. I may be a stay-at-home mom, but I’m also super busy. Besides my household, blog and two small children, I do not have the opportunity to meet up with friends quietly during the week.

Being a stay-at-home mom

As a stay-at-home mom you always have vacation? Believe me there are still people who think so. I always just quickly pull them out of the dream and tell them what life as a stay-at-home mom is really like. Although I have long since stopped defending myself every time.

Anyway me-time., so I really need that from time to time. What I do?

A belated Mother’s Day

I have been to a high tea a few times, but I knew from my mother that she had never done this before. Since leaving home I don’t really do Mother’s Day anymore ( besides a phone call) so I thought it would be nice to go to high tea with my mother as a ‘belated Mother’s Day gift’.

Chronically ill and me-time

Of course I really do have time for myself during the day and also ’in the evening when the boys are in bed all the time is mine. But really going out is hard. Because the boys are chronically ill and need care every day, I must -if I want to go away alone- always plan it with their care. No problem in itself, as long as I know it.

And so it was that I – the holiday– was able to enjoy some time to myself with my mother.

Hight tea at Gumleton

I grew up in Hoorn and always love being back here for a while. I find the streets cozy and you can store there nicely. Because I had already had a high-tea at Gumbleton, I now went here with my mother. Gumbleton is on ‘ main street’ and is very nicely decorated. There are shelves on the walls with tea pots and cups on them.

The tablecloths were super cute and the cups and saucers all in pastel colors. Gumbleton really reminds me of the coziness of drinking tea in England. So they really achieved their goal.

Pamper yourself

We chose the middle ‘high-tea’ and got 4 courses. Two hot and two cold, with scones, sandwiches, cakes and so much more. We could ask for unlimited tea and ended up spending over two and a half hours enjoying delicious flavors of tea and all the tasty snacks. It was a great success and I immediately agreed with my mother that we would do this more often
